Synopsis
Regeneration revisits and reimagines selected compositions from the formative years of the Sound Intent catalogue, transforming material originally released on Mists Rising (2011) and Cryogenus (2012) through fourteen years of artistic, technical and creative development. Rather than functioning as a remaster or retrospective compilation, the project approaches each composition as an opportunity for reinterpretation. New arrangements, expanded instrumentation, enhanced sound design and refined production techniques allow the original musical ideas to evolve while retaining the identity and emotional character that made them distinctive in their earliest forms. The result is both a celebration of the Sound Intent journey and a reflection on artistic growth. By bringing together compositions from two foundational albums and presenting them through a modern cinematic perspective, Regeneration demonstrates how creative ideas can continue to evolve, mature and find new life across time. Serving as both a retrospective and a reinvention, Regeneration bridges the gap between the formative years of Sound Intent and the project's contemporary creative direction, reconnecting past ideas with future possibilities.

Production Notes
All compositions, arrangements, performances, recording, sound design, mixing and production were undertaken by Jools under the Sound Intent project. The albums were developed within a home studio environment using a combination of digital recording technologies, software instruments, sound design techniques and electric guitar performance. While each project explores its own musical identity, a common production philosophy runs throughout the catalogue; blending cinematic atmospheres, expressive melodic content and immersive electronic textures to create emotionally driven listening experiences. Sound design plays a significant role across the releases, helping to establish the narrative, mood and character of each album. Regeneration was conceived as a creative re-evaluation of earlier Sound Intent compositions rather than a conventional remastering project. Each piece was revisited from the perspective of arrangement, instrumentation, structure and sonic identity, allowing ideas developed during the early years of the project to benefit from fourteen years of additional musical experience and production refinement. Throughout the album, emphasis was placed on enhancing cinematic scope, improving thematic coherence and creating a collection of compositions capable of functioning both as a unified listening experience and as a live performance repertoire. While the original melodies and core musical concepts remain intact, many tracks were significantly expanded through new instrumentation, revised structures and modernised production approaches, resulting in a body of work that reflects both the origins and continued evolution of Sound Intent.
Musical Themes
Regeneration explores artistic growth, reinterpretation and the enduring value of creative ideas. By revisiting compositions originally inspired by imagination, storytelling, science fiction, memory and personal reflection, the album demonstrates how music can evolve while retaining its original emotional purpose.
Across the project, familiar themes from Mists Rising and Cryogenus reappear in expanded forms, creating a dialogue between past and present. The result is a collection that celebrates both the origins of the Sound Intent catalogue and the ongoing process of creative development, renewal and transformation.
